Course Program & Key Topics

Day 1 – Fundamentals & PLC Technology

  • Fundamentals of Control Engineering: Measurement, control, and regulation; P, PI, PID controllers; open and closed loops; disturbances; controlled processes; time delays.

  • Practical Examples: Temperature and pressure control.

  • PLC Basics: Structure and functionality, wiring vs. PLC, digital and analog signals, IEC 61131-3 standard.

  • Workshop: Programming simple PLC logic.

Day 2 – Bus Systems & Sensor Technology

  • Bus Systems in Building Automation: Modbus, BACnet, KNX, LON, DALI – comparison and typical applications.

  • Fieldbus vs. System Bus: Addressing, communication principles, sources of interference.

  • Sensor Technology: Temperature, pressure, humidity, CO₂, and flow sensors.

  • Signal Types, Data Processing, Filtering, Calibration.

  • Practical Exercise: Analyzing and interpreting measurement data.

Day 3 – Instrumentation & Control Systems (I&C) & Applications

  • Overview of Common I&C Systems: Siemens Desigo/Synco, SAIA PCD, PRIVA Blue ID/ECO.

  • Differences, Applications, Visualization / Building Management Systems (BMS).

  • Applications: Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning control; heat recovery; mixed air dampers; lighting control; sun shading / blinds; safety systems (smoke extraction, access control).

  • Workshop: Designing the control of a ventilation system.

Day 4 – Exam & Certification

  • Review of All Modules and open Q&A session.

  • Multiple-Choice Exam & Practical Application Task.

  • Evaluation and Individual Feedback Sessions.

  • Certificate Awarding & Closing Session.
